Collaboration with community services offers a comprehensive system of child nutrition services for low-income children and families for preventive health and nutrition problems and intervening promptly when they exist. Early Explorers helps create the environment that children need to be active and healthy and involve parents in all aspects of service delivery, from planning to implementation. Collaborate with other agencies such as WIC, the FNP progam helps provide a broader spectrum of services.

Some of the Nutrition Services:
  • Individual nutrition conseling by a Registered Dietician to families with children at nutritional risk
  • Classroom lesson and Home Visit lesson plans involving health and nutrition
  • Nutrition education at workshops, parent meetings and through menus, handouts and newsletters
  • Menu preparation promoting multiculturalism
  • Free meals for enrolled children
  • Food Pyramid Education
  • Monthly Food experience done in the classrooms and on Home Visits

Our program provides high quality, nutritionally balanced meals to children while they are attending the center, Combo and Home based socializations. The food program is funded in part by the Federal Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

All meals are served Family Style. The children help set the table and serve themselves when age allows. This helps to develop personal responsibility. The teachers/caregiver eats with the children and model appropriate behaviour, self-sufficiency and manners.
