Each family completes a home safety checklist, to identify any concerns that may pose a threat in the home upon enrollment in the program. Any concerns are addressed and encouraged to be corrected. Parents are educated on safety issues through parent meetings and handouts. Children receive safety education through classroom experiences and onsite visits from various community helpers who help ensure safety in their local communities, such as, policemen, firemen, etc.
